The Research Process: A Taxonomy for the Social Sciences and Humanities

I'm currently putting together some of the preliminary materials for my undergraduate research seminar course, "Slavery, Incarceration, and Civil Rights in the Enlightenment Atlantic," which I will teach in Fall 2016. I'm thinking of new ways to organize the course, which is the senior capstone seminar for our undergraduates. To begin, I've put together a taxonomy to help students get their heads around the research process. While my course is a history course, I've tried to keep a general framework that could be adapted to other disciplines in the social sciences and humanities.

I'd appreciate any feedback that you might offer. I'm certain I've missed some things that could be valuable additions.
