Online Teaching Strategies Conversations (IUPUI School of Liberal Arts)

As we continue to teach online and work hard to keep our students engaged, we could all use some fresh perspectives, tools, and strategies.

The SLA Online Teaching Committee is hosting a sequel to the "conversation" we had back in late October. Same basic program, but new faculty panelists, including some who are using Microsoft Teams, Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.), Zoom, and non-technology-based activities. Panelists will be:

  • Krista Hoffman-Longtin (COMM)

  • Lynn Jettpace (ENG)

  • Leslie Etienne (AFRO)

  • Jason Aukerman (AMST)

  • Carrie Sickmann (ENG)

  • Jason Kelly (HIST)

  • Adam Maksl - UITS specialist in MS-Teams.

This 90-minute event will begin with faculty panelists sharing their strategies for keeping students engaged with each other and their classmates. We will then break out into groups, depending on the topic we're most interested in discussing. After group discussion, we will return to report briefly any new ideas, tools or strategies we learned.

To provide more faculty an opportunity to participate, the event will be held twice - 3/25 at 3pm and 3/26 at 10:30am.
