Flowchart: Turning a Topic into a Research Question | Demonstrating Significance

Several weeks ago, I began a series of posts, meant to provide materials to help students work through the earliest phases of a research project — i.e. finding a research topic, “interrogating” the topic, and situating it within the literature in the field.  This final flowchart is set up to help them demonstrate the significance of their project.  Like the other flowcharts, this one relies on the framework set out in Booth, Colomb, and Williams’s Craft of Research.

Please feel free to use them in your classes.  And, as always, I appreciate input.  When I get a chance, I will put this together into a poster format infographic, which readers will be able to print as one massive flowchart.
